Crime Analyst/Senior Administrative Assistant
The Rappahannock Regional Jail is seeking a qualified individual to work with a multi-jurisdictional criminal investigation unit as a Crime Analyst/Senior Administrative Assistant. This position requires experience with technical work retrieving, compiling and analyzing valid data of criminal reported incidents that will assist in identifying suspects, crimes, trends and problem areas to support agency resource allocations, crime prevention and other statistical data needed. Additional skills are required to perform complex clerical and intermediate administrative work performing a variety of complex office assistants that require typing and stenographer skills that will support the personnel assigned to this multi-jurisdictional task force. This position is the Administrative Assistant to the Rappahannock Regional Gang, Drug and Terrorism Task Force. Certification and experience with law enforcement reports and record keeping is preferred. Applicants should possess general knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques; general knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; ability to understand moderately detailed policies and procedures and job related materials; ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to make arithmetical calculations and the ability to operate office and computer equipment. Perform related tasks as required. Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a HS Diploma/GED, and a valid Virginia Drivers License. Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, DMV check and polygraph examination. Completed jail application is required.
