The Rappahannock Regional Jail is seeking an energetic, positive and self-motivated full-time and part-time LPN to work with our team of diverse professionals providing health care to incarcerated individuals. Duties include, but are not limited to; performing medical evaluations; assisting physicians; vein puncture; collecting medical data; preparing and maintaining files and records; preparing and dispensing medications. This position requires 12 hour rotating shifts. Must have a valid LPN state license. Applicants must be 21 years of age, have HS Diploma/GED and a valid Virginia Driverís License. Correctional Officer

Part-Time Drug Court Assistant

The Rappahannock Regional Jail is seeking a Part-Time Drug Court Assistant to provide monitoring, interviewing and testing drug court participants; preparing documentation, records and files; coordinating participant services and data with appropriate staff and agencies. Collects urine specimens and breath samples; checks and analyzes specimen for the presence of illegal or mood-altering substances. Prepares and enters data and documentation of information collected. Monitors area courts for any new charges against participants; follows all pending charges to final disposition; participants in drug court team staff meetings; transports participants to drug treatment programs. Performs related tasks as required. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, considerable office and criminal justice experience. Accounting / Payroll Specialist

The Rappahannock Regional Jail Department of Finance is seeking to fill the position of Accounting/Payroll Specialist. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to; performing a variety of general accounting/booking functions, writing journal entries, reconciling spreadsheet/reports and bank statements; preparing and performing complex and detailed financial spreadsheets and reconciliations; participates in the annual audit for the CAFR; provides assistance to outside auditors as required; exercises control and accountability of a variety of financial reporting documents/spreadsheets; assists the payroll Administrator in all payroll functions and serves as back-up to the Payroll Administrator as required; also serves as backup to the Accounting Technician as required. Applicants must possess thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, terminology methods and procedures as applied to local government; thorough knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment; general knowledge of bookkeeping practices; general knowledge of computer operations; accounting software and office equipment; ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written directions; ability to plan and organize; ability to solve problems within the scope of responsibility; ability to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy and prepare complex financial reports; Excel spreadsheet experience required; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, employees, officials and the general public. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma/GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with major course work in accounting and considerable experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping. Part-Time Pretrial Officer (Night Investigator)

The Rappahannock Regional Jail is seeking an organized professional with proficient oral and written communication skills capable of working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment with tight deadlines. Duties include: interviewing detainees, running criminal history checks, completing investigative reports and risk assessments to make recommendations to local courts on detainee release and conditions of release for individuals charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses. Conducts substance abuse testing on court defendants, documents defendantís progress and maintains case files, prepares case reports and other appropriate documentation regarding defendantís compliance with program and court orders, and testifies in court when required. Qualified candidates should have general knowledge of pretrial programs and the criminal justice system with experience in the field of community corrections or any other related combination of education and experience. High School Diploma or equivalent required. B.S. /B.A. degree preferred in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related human services field preferred. This is a grant funded position.
