Full-Time LPN

The Rappahannock Regional Jail is seeking an energetic, positive and self-motivated LPN to work with our team of diverse professionals providing health care to incarcerated individuals. Duties include, but are not limited to; performing medical evaluations; assisting physicians; vein puncture; collecting medical data; preparing and maintaining files and records; preparing and dispensing medications. This position requires 12 hour rotating shifts. Must have a valid LPN state license. Applicants must be 21 years of age, have HS Diploma/GED and a valid Virginia Driverís License. Correctional Officer

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Rappahannock Regional Jail is seeking to fill the position of Administrative Assistant. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to provide administrative assistance to department staff; answer telephone and directs to appropriate party for disposition. Transcribes a variety of documents, correspondence, reports, etc. from recorded, handwritten and computer drafts; prepares and designs graphs and charts for presentation. Prepares grant applications and reports for numerous grants and programs. Manages financial records of amounts spent and balances remaining in the line item budget for each department, grant programs. Coordinates and facilitates meetings for various boards. Organizes, coordinates and prepares materials for various agencies involved in coordinated regional efforts. Makes travel arrangements for local officials and department staff to attend training and conferences relating to the numerous community corrections issues; arranges and facilitates video conference training. Compiles information, prepares packages and distributes to board members; arranges meeting plans; verifies attendance of board members prior to planned meetings. Monitors and maintains the calendar and tickler system for scheduling appointments. Orders and maintain supplies and equipment for the department. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma/GED and any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college. Accounting experience preferred. Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques; comprehensive knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; ability to operate personal computer and appropriate software packages; ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to operate a Dictaphone; ability to communicate ideas effectively orally and in writing; skill in the operation of standard office equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, inmates and the general public. Applicants must be 21 years of age and must possess a valid Virginia Driverís License or the ability to acquire one.
