TITLE: Accounting/Payroll Technician

POSITION SUMMARY: Interested individuals must possess intermediate knowledge of payroll practices and process; general knowledge of accounting principles, the accounts payable process and general bookkeeping skills. Variety of duties including but not limited to assisting in the payroll preparation and benefit program administration, journal entry, reconciliation and maintenance of complex financial reports/spreadsheets, budget prep work, and various financial duties as assigned. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel, and have prior experience in governmental financial software data entry. Experience in Automated Data Processing (ADP) software a plus! Combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by 2 to 3 years of accounting and payroll experience is required. Position open until filled.

TITLE: Correctional Officers

POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking professional career-oriented candidates who desire to work in the public safety correctional setting. Candidates must be highly motivated, responsible and willing to accept challenging opportunities. Candidates th at apply will be provided excellent training and certifications through the Department of Criminal Justice Services. All applicants need to successfully complete a background investigation and a polygraph exam. Interpersonal communication s kills are a must. TITLE: Crime Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a grant-funded position to support detectives from King George, Stafford, Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg working as part of a regional task force investigating gang and drug activity. This position will be responsible for collection, analysis and distribution of crime data to assist law enforcement personnel in identifying persons and trends associated with gang and drug activity in the Rappahannock region. Attendance at regional meetings by gang detectives is also required.

The successful candidate must be able to collect, conceptualize, analyze, interpret and prepare data, and to utilize this data in support of the task force members; have the ability o establish and maintain effective working relationships with task force members; ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

Minimum Requirements: Associateís degree supplemented by two (2) years additional experience, education or training that includes crime analysis, statistical analysis, law enforcement, public or business administration, statistics, computer science or information system. Must possess and maintain a valid driverís license.

Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SQL, Arc View and/or Map Info, SPSS and/or SAS. Bilingual(English/Spanish).

NOTE: This position requires a polygraph examination prior to employment. The successful applicant must also be able to obtain NCIC/VCIN certification and a Secret security clearance.

TITLE: Human Resources Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Rappahannock Regional jail is seeking a professional, highly organized, career minded individual for the position of Human Resources Manager.

Candidates must possess strong managerial skills, excellent oral/written communication skills, advanced technical knowledge of Human Resources practices/procedures to include demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current laws governing FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, HIPPA, Workers Compensation, life insurance and Virginia Retirement. Candidates must be multi-tasked oriented and be willing to work in a fast-paced, growing local government environment.

Responsibilities include: Implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures, oversight of daily HR operations, monitoring of agency-wide compliance to HR laws and policies, extensive recruiting skills, daily management of a staff of three and detailed analysis/reporting. Position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Director.

Minimum Requirements: BA degree preferred in HR management or related field with at least 2 years experience in the Human Resources field Human Resource management in government is highly desired. Excellent computer, communication, management, organizational and presentation skills are preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience plus Virginia retirement benefits. Open until staffed.

TITLE: LPN, EMT, CNA Position (Part-time)

POSITION SUMMARIES: Seeking professional individual to provide daily nursing and emergency care to inmates. Duties include, but are not limited to, administering medications; performing routine diagnostics such as blood pressure and pulse rate, performing and assessing physical and medical examinations and maintaining inmate medical charts. Requirements include 1-year clinical experience working within your certification, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work a flexible schedule; 12 hour, rotating shift.

TITLE: Pretrial Officer (partĖtime night investigator)

POSITION SUMMARY:The Rappahannock Regional Jail, Community Corrections Division seeks an organized professional with proficient oral and written communication skills capable of working in a team environment with tight deadlines. Duties include: interviewing detainees, running criminal history checks, completing investigative reports and risk assessments to make recommendations to local courts on detainee release and conditions of release for individuals charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses. Beginning salary is $15.96 per hour, up to 20 hours per week working an overnight shift. Qualified candidates should have general knowledge of pretrial programs and the criminal justice system and should possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to B.S. or B.A. degree in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related human services field preferred.
