PROPERTY EXCHANGES

Facility Transfer and Property

Inmates transferring to another facility are permitted to take religious material and legal papers pertaining to current charges only. All other property items will be held at the facility for 30 days from date of transfer. All transferring inmates will sign a Disposition of Personal Property form authorizing the jail to release their property to a specified third party. If the inmate’s property is not claimed within 30 days, the property will be disposed.

 

Property Pick Up
Property must be picked up by the designated person between the hours of 8:00AM – 12:00NOON, Monday – Saturday

 

Mailed Property

Inmates who request their property to be mailed must contact the Property Department at 540-288-5245 ext. 515.  Postage will be determined by the mail room and a money order made payable to Rappahannock Regional Jail must be submitted prior to the 30 day destruction period.  Name and address of the person the property is being shipped to must be supplied. 

 

CLOTHING EXCHANGE HOURS


Monday through Saturday, 8:00AM - 12:00NOON

 

The following are lists of clothing that inmates may receive to wear in court or upon release:

 

Court Clothing:

 

  • Exchanges of clothing for court appearances are accepted only for those inmates pending trial in a Circuit Court. Exchanges will not be accepted for any other court.

 

  • Only one (1) exchange of clothing will be permitted.

 

  • Clothing must be appropriate apparel for court appearance. Acceptable clothing items are:

 

1 Suit Jacket

1 Shirt (Dress or Polo)

1 Pair Pants (Dress, casual, or jean)

1 Skirt (Females)

1 Dress (Females)

1 Tie

1 Pair of Dress Socks

1 Pair of Stockings (Females)

1 Pair of Dress Shoes

 

Property Exchange Hours:

Request Property to be Mailed

 

Call the Property Department

Submit request prior to the 30 day destruction period.

 

Postage will be determined by mail room.

 

Postage must be paid with money order, payable to: Rappahannock Regional Jail.

 

 

 

Any person who shall willfully in any manner deliver, attempt to deliver or conspire with another to deliver contraband to any inmate confined in the Rappahannock Regional Jail will be prosecuted in accordance with §18.2-474 & §18.2-474.1 of the Code of Virginia

PROHIBITED CLOTHING

No clothing with any type of logo or slogan will be accepted. The following clothing items will not be accepted:

 

Sweatshirts

Sweatpants

T-Shirts

Tennis Shoes

White Socks

White T-Shirt
